Alameda County Immigration Legal Education Partnership (ACILEP) SMS Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

ACILEP respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. By opting into our SMS service, you agree to the following terms regarding how we handle your data and communicate with you:

1. Data Collection
ACILEP collects your mobile phone number when you call our rapid response hotline, provide it during our intake process, or verbally consent during outreach or service interactions. Your number is used solely for SMS communication related to ACILEP services.

ACILEP is a collaborative of nonprofit, community-based organizations. Information shared through the hotline may be disclosed to partner organizations directly involved in providing support and services to ensure coordinated assistance.

2. How We Use Your Data
Your mobile number will only be used to send follow-up information or coordination messages, responses to inquiries, or ICE activity alerts and confirmations.

All messages are strictly operational and do not include marketing content. You will not be contacted for any unrelated purposes.

3. Consent to Receive Messages
By providing your number during a hotline call, intake process, or outreach event, you consent to receive SMS messages from ACILEP. This includes updates on rapid response efforts, legal aid coordination, and Know-Your-Rights information.

You may also opt into our SMS services by texting START to our program number.

4. Data Security & Retention
We take appropriate measures to protect your data against unauthorized access. Your information is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill programatic needs or until you opt out. You may request deletion of your information at any time by contacting us directly.

5. Message & Data Rates
Your mobile carrier may charge standard message and data rates for sending or receiving SMS messages. If you do not have an unlimited texting plan, additional fees may apply. ACILEP does not charge recipients for SMS messages.

6. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies depending on verified ICE activity, community alerts, or your interaction with ACILEP staff and volunteers. You may receive messages multiple times per day during periods of active rapid response.

7. Opt-Out & Support
You may opt out of our SMS service at any time by replying STOP to any message. To receive assistance or additional information, reply HELP, visit www.acilep.org, or contact us at info@acilep.org or (510) 241-4011.

8. Non-Sharing Policy
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with third parties for marketing purposes. Your information will only be used to provide program-related services through ACILEP or our trusted partner organizations.
